Books of the year 2011: Ed Miliband

One Day - David Nicholls

My favourite book this year has been David Nicholls's One Day (Hodder Paperbacks, £7.99). It was my holiday reading in August. It's
a novel about the uncertainties of relationships that speaks to my generation and I found it totally gripping. The characters are complex, the locations familiar. I don't want to give away the ending but everyone who reads it agrees how powerful it is.
