20 under 40: Priti Patel

Conservative, Witham
You can't fault Priti Patel for dedication - she went straight from university into the Conservative Research Department. Last year she won her newly created seat in Essex comfortably.
Although she was on David Cameron's infamous "A list" of candidates, her views are decidedly toxic Tory; she favours restoring the death penalty and has criticised the PM's more gentle approach.

Except she spent two years working for James Goldsmith's Referendum Party. Her right wing views should prevent her ever becoming a front bencher.
You can criticise Priti when her views on the death penalty are complete rubbish. She talks about the human rights of the families of victims, what about the same human rights of those wrongly accused and their families ?
A person can be excluded from society and if they are found to be wrongly convicted some thing can be done to correct part of the wrong. What can you do if you kill that person ?
An eye for an eye solution is nothing but a barbaric way of seeking justice.
She looks good for her age though
Shameful performance on BBC Question Time
@Tony
You idiot. Just because the odd innocent person may be accidentally executed doesn't mean we should not execute any killers.
The NHS accidentally kills patients on regular basis, so should we ban NHS operations, eh?
Like I said, you're an idiot. Fact.
Flashbuck: "You idiot. Just because the odd innocent person may be accidentally executed doesn't mean we should not execute any killers"
Yes. for many of us it does mean exactly that.
Also, calling someone an idiot for having a different opinion than yours says a lot more about you than it does him. Conversely your comment on the NHS has no relevance to this at all and has no logical basis to it. I don't suppose you'll see that but I'm afraid that IS a fact.
This woman ticks all the boxes for inclusion in 'Dave' Cameron's Tory party. That's why she is being pushed forward, not that they needs any help where pushing is concerned. Why haven't the modern Tory party ever done anything but politics' PR and journalism?

Having just watched the programme on the iplayer, I would ask why she is being touted as a one to watch? She can't even pronounce the letter 'g' on the end of words.
