Is this the end for Blue Labour, the loose agglomeration of academics and politicians that has had the ear of Ed Miliband since he became Labour leader? Dan Hodges reports, on page 14, that recent remarks on immigration by Maurice Glasman, Blue Labour's best-known representative, have led some fellow travellers, including the MP Jon Cruddas, to conclude that the "brand" is now fatally contaminated.

It would be a pity, however, if Mr Glasman's eccentric suggestion that inward migration to the UK should be frozen were to overshadow other valuable aspects of Blue Labour thinking - particularly on the economy, reform of the welfare system and the redistribution not just of income but also of power.
