Marmaduke Constable MP fought at Flodden Field in 1513 and was a knight of the shire for Yorkshire, then for Warwickshire.

Marmaduke Gresham sat for Bletchingley in 1685. Marmaduke Darcy, the gentleman usher to Charles II, sat from 1665 for Richmond, in Yorkshire, a constituency that elected various Marmaduke Wyvills in 1585, 1597, 1695, 1727, 1847 and 1866. The latter two dates represent an English chess master who gave his name to a pawn formation.

Yet other Marmaduke Wyvills sat for Ripon in 1553, York (1820-30) and Otley (1895-99). Marmaduke Lawson sat for Boroughbridge (1818-20), another extinct Yorkshire constituency.

No Marmadukes now, but one Wyvill: Wyvill Richard Nicolls (Nick) Raynsford, Labour MP for Greenwich and Woolwich.
