Flipboard, a new app which blends news with the users' social network updates, and converts this into a magazine style layout, debuted on the iPad on Wednesday.
When the user taps a source in the app, animated stories, headlines, and photos roll out across the page.
If there is an associated image or embedded video, the user can zoom in on the image or play the video inside the app, without having to leave Flipboard and open a separate video player.
The app also changes the layout of the magazine pages depending on the iPad's display mode.
Flipboard is available for free from the App Store and requires an iPad running iOS 3.2 or later.
