Business Process Management and graphic modelling could be trends for 2010

Graphic modelling could replace spreadsheets, IT research firm Gartner reports.

The company also predicts that more knowledge workers will use Business Process Management (BPM) in 2010.

Gartner predicts that by 2014, 40 per cent of business managers and knowledge workers in Global 2000 organisations would use business process models to support their everyday tasks. This indicates a rise of 6 per cent on 2009.

By 2012, 20 per cent of customer-facing processes can be quickly assembled to meet demands of individual customers using BPM.

The acquisitions of the Business Process Management software firm, Lombardi by IBM and Savvion by Progress Software are expected to inspire more acquisitions.
