Spam, spam, spam, spam

Colin Wells, 40, was hit with up to 50 spam emails a day when he signed up with an internet provider in 1999. But the flow kept growing and recently hit an all-time high of 44,000 in a single day.

He now uses a filter to regulate the spam - but claims he misses his daily routine of opening thousands of emails.

Colin, of Dawlish, Devon, said: "I knew I was special when I started getting spam because there was an awful lot of it."

Laying down the law

A motorist has been ordered to pay a £120 fine after a hit-and-run driver shunted his legally parked car into a disabled bay.

Accountant Nick Baldwin, 26, said: "There was glass everywhere. It was obvious it had been hit really hard. I couldn't believe there was also a ticket on my windscreen."

A Camden spokeswoman said it was aware of the circumstances but added that it was the responsibility of the motorist to appeal by giving written evidence as required by law.
