Pocol boasts on Facebook

Eighteen police officers have been punished for boasting about crashing cars and hitting pedestrians.

One picture on the Facebook group "Look I've Had a Pocol" - slang for police collision - showed a patrol car in an accident with a white car. The officer who posted it wrote: "I did him a favour. At 82 you just shouldn't be on the road and if you are, then most certainly don't go through a green light into the path of an innocent police car."

Another showed a uniformed officer giving a thumbs-up next to a vehicle, having hit a fallen tree.

A Met spokesman said: "Fourteen officers received written warnings and four were given a speaking to. Another five had unofficial words in their ear."

Shagpile the Smeg

Do the right thing. Your fridge gobbles up 8 per cent of your annual energy consumption. Insulate the outside with corkboard or shagpile carpet and check all the seals are working.
