Theatre of and for the here and now doesn't come much better than Into the Hoods. With its up-to-the-moment references of contemporary culture, clever visuals and recorded voice-overs, the show will appeal to those who don't leave home without their iPod. Tim Gilmore, 48, was called as a witness to an armed robbery at Threshers near All Saints' Church, Franciscan Road, where he works.

He told witness officers he feared the defendants would come after him. But instead of being given witness protection, he was awoken at 8.30am by police, handcuffed and taken to Kingston Crown Court to give evidence.

Mr Gilmore, of Topsham Road, has worked at the church for ten years and has witnessed drug-taking, fights, theft and indecent exposure.
