Litter louts

For years people living near Hampstead Heath have been urging police to clean up the area. One of London's best-loved beauty spots is a notorious venue for gay sex orgies.

Far from trying to stamp out the practice, the local health authority started hanging free condoms and lubricants on trees.

Now these are strewn all over the shop, the police have decided to act. They are handing out plastic sacks to encourage "cruisers" to take their "sex litter" home.

Authorial voice

Intellect's ethos is reflected in its policies - eg, there is little editorial intervention in comparison with other publishers. Intellect adopts a rigorous copy-editing and proofreading procedure, however, whilst this ensures grammatical excellence and consistency, the copyediting does not try to mould content into house style or interfere with the authorial voice. Intellect tries to represent the author authentically not appease the reader.
