Sheriff Maciver said Gough's refusal to wear clothes in prison was not good for the prison authorities in terms of management and not good for him in terms of his general health.
The sheriff deferred sentence on Gough until 16 April. But less than two hours later Gough was rearrested and put in the back of a police van. When asked if he had anything to say, he said: "You have taken me by surprise. Where is the freedom?"

Flypost for charity
Villagers were threatened with prosecution after local council officials discovered notices pinned up on a lamp post advertising a children's charity bingo.
The council told the treasurer of the village hall committee that it had a duty to "enforce legislation in regards to antisocial behaviour".
