A tempting tour

Society Visit: The Victorian sewerage system of Brighton is a magnificent example of civil engineering from that period, and many of the original sewers are still in use today. Please do not book for this tour if you may have problems with:

Climbing up and down ladders; confined and poorly lit spaces; breathing/respiratory distress (the atmosphere may be unpleasant); angina.

Cost £12 for adults, £5 for children 11-16. Not open to under-11s.

Body odour ban

The Oceana nightclub in central Milton Keynes is the first city venue to start pumping perfume.

Before the smoking ban, the smell of cigarette smoke overpowered unpleasant smells such as stale beer, sweat, toilets, damp and even flatulence.

Now, following months of research, the nightclub is getting rid of lingering odours by diffusing its own bespoke scent called HydroSpa over its dancefloors.
