Once in a lifetime

On Tuesday night [Prince Harry] dined at Saathi Indian restaurant, on Priestpopple, in Hexham.

The prince showed up at 8.30pm without having booked, to the complete shock of staff.

He was accompanied by seven friends, three of whom were security.

They asked for two tables and the security team sat separately.

The prince ate a chicken korma and enjoyed a rum and Coke. He even helped pass dishes to the staff. Harry and his four friends gave a tip of £11.

Owner Titu Sultan Ahad said: "It was an experience I do not think I will ever get again in my life."

Not a sausage

A Weymouth butcher whose shop will overlook the 2012 sailing venue has been told to remove a sign of the five Olympic rings he made from sausages. The Olympic Symbol etc (Protection) Act of 1995 obliges the British Olympic Association to "manage and control [its] commercial exploitation".
