No rest for the wicked
Bury firefighters Keith Hadley and Dave Adamson received written warnings after being found guilty of using "unauthorised resting facilities" at Bury Fire Station.
The pair allegedly used gym mats on the floor of the station during a 15-hour night shift instead of approved recliner chairs.
Watch commander Steve Wilcock was given a final written warning, for failing to police proper use of the resting equipment.
The three yesterday appeared at separate appeals hearings before County Fire Officer Barry Dixon in an effort to overturn the punishments. Mr Dixon has seven days to consider the evidence before ruling on their appeals.

Suits you, m’lud
Should wigs go but the rest stay? Do you support the idea that the Bar should wear suits only under the present robes? In such circumstances would we be distinguishable from court staff (such as ushers) who also wear robes and a suit underneath?
