WABCOâ€™s new sourcing team in Istanbul will identify and develop local suppliers who deliver value through quality and reduced cost. WABCOâ€™s strategy for global sourcing integrates key suppliers as partners in the companyâ€™s supply chain while addressing better standards for engineering and technology.
WABCO currently operates sourcing hubs in Europe, China, India and Brazil. As of 2010, 43 percent of WABCOâ€™s total sourcing was from emerging countries, up from 10 percent a decade ago. WABCOâ€™s sourcing in 2010 was worth approximately $1 billion to support the companyâ€™s total sales of $2.2 billion in local currencies.
WABCO has been serving commercial vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators for 30 years in Turkey. The company continues its well anchored position through Intermobil Otomotiv, WABCOâ€™s national partner for sales, marketing and distribution.
