Once the Asian markets become mature and technology becomes sophisticated enough not to need cheap labour then there will be all to play for. These two occurrences are coming sooner than you think.

Though, as being a main player in the Asian Union will hold sway in the forthcoming World Government.

Too many internal problems... water shortages, etc. Plus we have the navy that they are financing

Not sure any one country will 'rule the world' perhaps we thought the USA might do, but the rise of Islamic nations, the development of China and the resurgent of Russia have already challenged this notion/

Weak language skills elsewhere in the world will limit cross pollination. Thwarted enlightenment and self-determination internally also an inhibitor.

No.
China had the chance five hundred years ago but all it did was discover the world for self knowledge and then went home. Whle on this world discovery it left many interesting items with no strings attached in the countries they visited, even today (begin 21st century) China does things in other countries with very few strings attached. Imagin if China today (begin 21st century) was like the US, the people of the world would be in a severe predicament.

Hardly. Chinese ambition does not stretch so long - what the Chinese government seems to want is to modernise the country, keep it together, have a considerable say in world affairs, and not least, remain in power. The grandiosity and lack of self-knowledge characteristic of the proponents of the «City on the Hill» and the «New American Century» seems to be lacking ; the present Chinese leadership will be satisfied, it would seem, with a multi-polar world. A world in which one sole power does not attempt to control everything and everyone would be a relief - if, indeed, the United States can be let down gently so that it doesn't blow us all up int he process of dismantling its failing empire....

The days of anyone ruling the world are over. It's a false paradigm.
