Cynical, poorly phrased tabloid question - this mag should be capable of something more adult, shouldn't it?

What a ridiculous idea and totally sensationalist.

What idiot writes these questions. What can we expect next? - "Should we bring back hanging?" - You just need a £2 a minute phoneline to seal your lack of credibility. - Morons!

It's gone to pot ever since we abolished the capital sentence for property theft. A better question would be 'Should we bring back hanging'.

It's still one of the best - that's why the Country is unfortunately swamped with illegal and legal immigrants! But it won't be for long if this trend continues uncontolled!

No. Immigrants and anyone who has lived overseas knows that, with its free education and health service, Britain is one of the best countries to live in. But parents have to work very hard to protect their children against rampant consumerism and irresponsible media.

Silly question! There is plenty to complain about. Just cast your eyes around the world. But we need to stop making concessions to the religious lobbies.

Until we get real political will to do something about the appalling divisions within our society, conditions for the poor and disadvantaged will continue as will the violence. This has become a rotten place in which to bring up children.

We are lucky to live in a country which for all its faults, respects the rule of law.
And I agree with other comments - this is a daft question!

Definitely a silly question! However having lived in Italy for the last six years I'm very pleased I was brought up in Britain.

We have overall, a high standard of living, have eradicated most childhood dieswases and have a low infant mortality rate compared to many many countries in the developing world. Every child has access to and opportunity for education until the age of 16 (both genders), and exploitative child labour is forbidden. Can we get real please on this!

Definitely not the worst, very lucky to have been born here but politically we could do with a big shake up, democracy is dying and apathy growing.

Many countries are far worse, but there a widespread feeling that many of the pressures on the young are working in the wrong direction and producing too many intellectually limited, obsessive and unhappy young people. - Carl Jones

Shockingly poor question. The NS should allow longer questions so it can be set in context. This country is a mess. I could get depressed thinking about it and then I`d be on prozac like half the country.LOL

Try say Somalia or, if a woman, much of the Near East. If a man, much of the Near East.
Whether it's the most civilised place to live is much more of an open question.
