Quote of the Day
Lord Freud on whether he's too wealthy to understand the benefits system.
By Alex Hern Published 23 November 2012 8:41
You don't have to be the corpse to go to the funeral, which is the implied criticism there.
Lord Freud, the peer in charge of the Government's welfare reforms, rejects claims that his wealthy background means he can't understand the reality of living on benefits.

This ridiculous joke of a man should not be anywhere near any policies to do with the unemployed and disabled. A parasite of the very highest order.
I'm led to believe the experience of a corpse at a funeral is different from all of the other attendees, but I've yet to confirm it.
"You don't have to be the corpse to go to the funeral..."
No, you can drive past in a huge car at speed, sending a wave of filthy puddle water all over the bride (shit, wrong occasion). This must be the most ridiculous statement in history - next time the Lords are unhappy about something can they go on hunger strike, maybe they would understand the outside world a bit better if they did.
Desparation, they are queuing up to pitch in with their nasty out of touch soundbites. They take the public for fools and any ordinary people who voted for them all Ican say is how is it working out for you now?
The undeserving poor,or in his case the undeserving living.
I think the Freud Squad ought be called in to find out when his father was a chef with no abilities to employment other than a cook, and he ended up i,ensly rich.
Indeed his father once joked to me how when a cook/chef and bottle-washer used to within the kitchen pee, or something worse in the food of customers they did not like.
Such culture and such breeding.
(and he ended up immensely rich.)
Spitting Image puppets are so realistic these days. But the script is rather far fetched.
I know i shouldn't, but i think i may have his speech for next week;
'Let them eat cake'
Remember all politicians whether Lords, or MP's exist on State benefits and hand-outs, many illegal too.
Expenses are state benefits and they are so poor they alike Osborne can have three houses on the state, all paid out of the workers and pensioners taxes and benefit subscriptions. They can be paid full heating and all mod con in their houses too.
They have to keep the vulnerable's they pick up off the streets warm.

Lord Freud would have a point only if he believes that those on benefits are essentially dead.
which is likely how he sees things.
Quite right - it is his thoughts, proposals and active involvement which shows that he does not understand the reality of life on benefits, nor does he displays evidence of empathy with those who are undergoing the avoidable suffering inflicted by ATOS and the WCA.
To repeat what Gordon Brown said one day when he thought that the microphone was off.
What a biggot!
