I cannot imagine Britain not being part of Europe. I think that it is good for it to be part of Europe. I want a strong Britain in the EU. Britain was there when we were liberated from National Socialism.

Merkel is saying the politically correct thing to say. European politicians are paying lip service to Britain staying in the EU. But at the same time they also carefully refrain from taking any action which might make the UK change its mind. They would quote relish unquote a British exit.
And we are here, just in time again to get rid of the eu dictatorship.
