On 19 May, the New Statesman in association with Lloyds TSB held a round-table discussion on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social enterprise, part of an ongoing programme on social enterprise that the NShas been organising in recent years. The purpose of this event was to explore the potential benefits of collaboration between social enterprise and the private sector; what barriers exist for social enterprises and commercial companies looking to engage and develop together; what prevents them from creating effective partnerships and what measures could be established to help them move forward.
