On 8 September, the New Statesman and the Smith Institute hosted a round-table discussion on the future of public services. The event was held in association with Future Services, an initiative set up to examine the role of the “customer” in shaping and delivering public services. This round table opens the debate to a wider audience and considers a number of important questions. Do people want or need more choice? Who sets the parameters and where?
