Letters - Babies are the silent danger

John Pilger is right about censorship by journalism ("The real first casualty of war", 24 April). It goes far beyond war. In reporting the growing troubles today, the biggest silence is about population growth as a factor.

The many short-term interests help explain the silence. And what on earth can be done about it? Charities appeal for aid - but the need grows as population growth outstrips the wars and famines.
