Letters - Careful thinking

Darcus Howe's take on Somali youths in parts of London (28 November) highlights the failure of Somali community groups that are organised along clan lines. The absence of specific mentoring programmes for these youths and of responsible community leaders compounds the problems. Like other refugees, Somalis have fled a war-torn country. Thinking about how to help Somalis help themselves is a good start.
