Letters - Far from Catholic

John O'Farrell is wrong about Tony Blair and Northern Ireland (Politics, 8 August). He believes the PM's late mother came from Donegal Catholic stock, but she was a Donegal Protestant. This undermines his argument that Blair understands the IRA because of "his shared ethnic and religious heritage with it".
