Letters - Migrants never sit around

Hunter Davies (14 February) enlisted from a TV executive a work-experience person to assist with his survey of newspaper sports coverage. The individual in question is a 23-year old graduate. Yet if he had not been borrowed by Davies, he would have been primarily "tea-making", "photocopying" and "just sitting around". I wonder if this example offers some clue as to why our major political parties seem to want to kick out all our migrant workers. Is it perhaps because the much-maligned immigrants are making the rest of us look bad? It certainly appears that they are the only ones who are doing any work.
