Letters - Oversights increase digital divide

It was interesting to read about the paradoxes that Manchester faces over the development of digital technology (Round Table, 10 January). Inevitably, however, Cumbria was completely omitted from the discussion. West Cumbria is still reeling from the North-west Development Agency's overspend, thus depriving this part of the north-west of promised regeneration money.

When I read an article that ignores a vital part of the region's economy and its rural poverty, I am no longer surprised.
