NEW MEDIA AWARDS 2002
THE NEXT GENERATION

STOP PRESS . . . STOP PRESS . . . 2002 AWARD CEREMONY IN BLACKPOOL . . .

New Statesman New Media Awards 2002, supported by the Co-operative Bank, aimed to find original initiatives that revealed how technology could create a more inclusive society. To discover our winners click here

In 1998, New Statesman dedicated the first New Media Awards to promote projects that embraced new technology, fresh thinking and creative management. This year, we asked you to nominate projects that use technology to revitalise and recreate dynamic working links between citizens, communities and government. We wanted projects that empower, educate and enhance services previously unavailable.

Who was shortlisted?

2002 produced a great range, and tremendous number, of quality nominations. To read the shortlist for each award click here.

The three finalists for each category were invited to the New Media Awards 2002 award ceremony. This year the awards ceremony took place at the Hilton Hotel, Blackpool on the evening of 1 October 2002, kindly supported by The Co-operative Bank.

Thank you to everyone who took part helping make the 2002 awards the most interesting year ever.
