The finalists
Children's Express
Young people genuinely lead the way with this organsition. Children's Express gives young people the chance to voice their views, using all areas of the media. They empower young people to write and produce articles and features on issues which affect them. It is the voice of the child, not their leaders which comes across in wider media. Being at the forefront of new media they have a cracking interactive website with a storybank of over 600 stories. Their website is used as a valuable tool to link their Bureau together, widen access to the project across the country through their support materials and publicise their participation in events and exhibitions. They also have a new relationship with Learnthings one of the UK's largest education websites.Children's Express stories are now being carried on Learnnewsdesk, part of the site's Learnpremium subscription service. Specially written for 9-13 year olds, this is a daily service which presents the news in a clear, jargon-free way. Children's Express in one of the most vibrant and exciting media related projects I have come across for some time. Eleanor Logan
