Exco InTouch’s interactive text messaging solution is being used by the Family Clinic at St Mary's Hospital, London to provide a unique medication reminder service for their teenage HIV patients.
Dr Hermione Lyall of the Paediatrics Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital said; ”Many Children born with HIV need to take multiple medications, every day. For those reaching teenage years, keeping motivated and remembering when to take the medications each day is a challenge, which if not addressed can seriously affect the long term health of the patients.”
She continued “Exco InTouch’s solution offers the best method of reminding them of their medication while maintaining their independence and confidentiality.”
Exco InTouch’s solution allows the patients to select not only the time of each reminder but also the message content itself so that it provides a personal narrative to each teenager.
Currently active across London, it will be deployed across the United Kingdom if the pilot is successful.
