i-Map: The Everyday Transformed is a new on-line art resource designed by Tate specifically for visually impaired people. It builds on the original i-Map website that was launched in 2002 and explored works by Matisse and Picasso. The new site includes four new keyboard navigable animations with audio voiceovers describing art works from Tate’s collection. The animations deconstruct the work specifically for visually impaired users as well as providing background information on the artist and the context of the work. In addition, the site provides PDFs of the art works designed to be printed out as raised images. There are accompanying audio tracks that describe the raised image to the user as well as providing background information on the artist and the context for the work. The site is designed so that it can be navigated with screen readers. There are a number of display options on the site which enable users to enlarge the text and change the colour contrast to high contrast. Audio is provided throughout the i-Map animations with transcripts provided for deaf users. Rose Cardiff
