net-guide is a not-for-profit accessible search engine that uniquely only lists accessible websites, and has received the RNIB's "See it Right" accreditation award.
net-guide is intended to be a useful resource to visually and physically impaired users, and has more than 6,000 regular visitors a month. It is also a way to raise awareness of accessibility issues to the public and website stakeholders alike.
In 2005, net-guide campaigned heavily with the RNIB and Tom Brake MP to promote the RNIB's campaign for good website design and net-guide even featured in an Early Day Motion in the house of Commons regarding accessibility. More than 50 MPs signed up to support it, and several MPs agreed to improve accessibility on their own personal websites.
net-guide have just started a sponsorship programme, from which 50% of any funds raised will be donated to the RNIB.
