The "Billy Nomad Project" is an attempt at social computing using freely-available, cheap commodity wireless technology. The self-contained battery-powered unit represents an internet microcosm - a small snapshot of content devised by the owner and accessible to anyone that comes within range. It incorporates a number of internet services including a games area, community BBS and gallery, streaming radio station and a music jukebox system populated with Creative-Commons licensed tracks. The system is both PC and PDA friendly and a great deal of effort has gone into making it usable on a wide a range of devices as possible. Peter Garner
