We have created a parent project which aimed to build a good relationship between parents and school. In year 1 we asked parents to text into school about their child's reading and the teachers would text back advice and support. The children also faxed work to their parents and e-mailed them during the day. Our new website also hopes to appeal to the parental audience by creating a parents zone where they can access information they need. We send out a monthly newsletter to all parents which tells them of sites of interest to them to keep their children safe on the net and other information such a sites for tips on parenting skills. These good links had encouraged parents to contact school more often and they enjoyed making contact with their children during the day and seeing work from their children other than on parental consulation days.
