USA Today appoints Susan Weiss as executive editor

Weiss previously worked at McCall's magazine.

USA Today has appointed Susan Weiss, managing editor of the paper's Life section, as executive editor for content, according to The Wall Street Journal's MarketWatch.

In her new role, Weiss will oversee editorial content on all platforms such as print, online and mobile.

Weiss joined the Gannett-owned paper in 1983 as a copy editor in its Life section. She served as TV editor and deputy managing editor before being named managing editor of Life in 1990.

Prior to joining USA Today, Weiss worked at McCall's magazine.

John Hillkirk, editor of the paper, said: "Susan's experience at USA Today makes her uniquely qualified to serve as executive editor of content. She brings a keen sense of what readers want in USA Today and we think she's the ideal choice to lead the newsroom in content selection for all platforms."
