Trinity Mirror regional digital head to go amid restructure

Trinity Mirror are looking to accelerate the delivery of their digital strategy.

Trinity Mirror's regional digital director, Chris Bunyan, is in consultation with the publisher as to his future role in the firm, following the replacement of his position with two new senior roles.

The replacement comes as the publisher restructures its regionals division with the stated aim of accelerating the delivery of its digital strategy.

Bunyan, who was previously director of portal management at Virgin Media, has held the digital post at Trinity Mirror since 2008.

The company is known to be interviewing candidates for the two new roles of digital commercial director and Local Mole general manager. They will focus on specialist knowledge around the group's online directory and commercial offering from regional titles such as Liverpool Daily Post, Manchester Evening News and Evening Chronicle.
