AP appoints 4 regional editors in US

Photo editors to take up positions in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix for Associated Press

Associated Press (AP) Director of Photography Santiago Lyon announced four new regional photo-editors for the US on Tuesday.

Reputed and award winning AP Photojournalists -- Jacqueline Larma, Mike Stewart, Kiichiro Sato and Tom Stathis -- will head the news cooperative's photo coverage divisions in the regions of Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix, respectively.

They will report to the Deputy Director of Photography, Denis Paquin, in New York, and will work with other regional editors across the country.

"Jacqueline, Mike, Kiichiro and Tom bring many decades of journalist experience and photographic expertise to these important leadership roles. Together they are a formidable team and will be instrumental in continuing AP's dominance of photographic coverage in the US," said Lyon.

The newly appointed editors will be responsible for bringing out good photo reports for all the US states and delivering visual coverage on state, national and international stories pertaining to their regions.

They will also supervise AP's photo news editors, staff photographers and photo freelancers.
