Caroline Little to step down as Guardian US chief
Caroline will remain Chief of ContentNext Media, which she has held since January 2009.
Caroline Little is to step down as chief executive of the US operations of Guardian News & Media (GNM). She will, however, remain chief of New York-based ContentNext Media, the company's digital media industry news subsidiary.
Little has held the post since January 2009, prior to which she was chief executive and publisher for the Washington Post's digital operations, overseeing its websites washingtonpost.com, newsweek.com, slate.com and theroot.com.
Entertainment and media business site The Wrap has quoted Little as saying she is "rethinking" what she wanted to do, and that she greatly appreciated the Guardian.
"It's been challenging. This is a London-based company. They know the US is a huge market. They are truly committed to the US but it's been hard to get them there," she is reported to have said.
ContentNext, which was bought by GNM in 2008 for £4m, publishes paidcontent.org, moconews.net, contentsutra.com and paidcontent:UK.
