The Sunday Times reporter Steven Swinford is to quit the paper after five years and join the Daily Telegraph, the Guardian has reported.
Swinford's move comes shortly after another reporter, Chris Gourlay, announced plans to leave the paper to work for an internet start-up "connected with the Big Society agenda".
Both departures are understood to have no connection with the round of redundancies announced by the Times newspapers.
However, a host of reporters, including News Review editor Susannah Herbert and news reporter Christopher Hastings, have left the Times newspapers in recent months.
Julian Muscat, the Times's racing writer, has also announced his plans after 17 years to leave the paper.
Neither the Sunday Times nor the Telegraph has commented on the matter.
