Most people are unwilling to pay for online editions of newspapers, says a survey by YouGov SixthSense.

The survey of 2,160 people on their attitudes to print and online editions revealed that about 60 per cent of them were ready to pay for the print edition of a good newspaper, but only 2 per cent were willing to do so to access news content online.

Approximately 44 per cent of the respondents would choose the print edition of a newspaper over the online one because of thoroughness and better coverage.

About 4 per cent were willing to pay for online content only if it was exclusive to the web edition. About 83 per cent flatly refused to pay to read any news appearing online.
