Lori Weitzner has launched Newsworthy, her Spring 2010 collection, that showcases recycled newspapers. Strips are hand woven on a loom with nylon thread to give them a textural surface, before being finished with a water-based topcoat to keep them from yellowing and staining. Weitzner said the wallpaper was similar to grass cloth, a popular wall cover where grass is woven on a loom and then layered on paper. The designer added that by replacing grass with newspaper, she wanted to create something "interesting and beautiful".
