Pacific Business News bags Hawaii newspaper award

Title bags win for seventh year running.

Pacific Business News (PBN) was been named as Hawaii's best non-daily newspaper at the 25th annual awards luncheon of Hawaii Publishers Association on Thursday. Its reporter Linda Chiem won a second-place award for her report on the non-state drug plan and its impact on local pharmacies. PBN's former editor Jim Kelly won a second-place award for an editorial "Calling for the City and County of Honolulu". Chad Blair, a former reporter, was awarded for his report on thehomeless in Kapiolani Park and the effect on Hawaii tourism. Honolulu Advertiser columnist David Shapiro bagged the Hawaii Publishers Association's Hall of Fame award and Erwin Hudelist, president of Hagadone Printing Co., was honoured as the Industry Person of the Year.
