NYT ties up with Fwix for hyper-local news

The New York Times (NYT) Company is partnering with Fwix, a real-time news aggregating service, to q

The agreement enables Fwix to distribute hyper-local content across several of its newspapers and websites.

Fwix's distribution deal will help the NYT and its sister publications provide deep news coverage of the US, the UK, New Zealand and other countries at a low cost.

About 60 per cent of Fwix's content reportedly comes from local internet bloggers.

The NYT is already working with universities in New York and non-profit news organisations in San Francisco and Chicago to increase its news-gathering sources.
