Abu Dhabi media summit to open on 9 March
The three-day Abu Dhabi Media Summit will open on 9 March at the Yas Hotel.
The inaugural summit has been organised by the Abu Dhabi Media Company and its partners including the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Aldar, Etihad Airways, Mubadala, and twofour54°.
The summit aims to bring together top-tier global media partners and their counterparts in fast-growing markets. It targets various sectors such as mobile, broadband, traditional television, print, entertainment, news, music, advertising and marketing, as well as venture capital and equity finance, with special emphasis on markets in the Middle East, the Subcontinent, East Asia and China.
Top media leaders including Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp and Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, will appear alongside Sunil Bharti Mittal of India's Bharti Enterprises, Mohammed Omran of Etisalat, the Emirates telecoms group, and Mehmet Ali Yalçındag of Turkey's Dogan Media.
The summit will feature a unique combination of high-profile public sessions, closed-door discussions and private conversations.
Delegates will discuss the pace of technological change, smart phones and mobile trends, the reach of television, web-based business models as well as media investment and growth.
