Peter Willis and Alison Phillips are new Mirror editors
Daily Mirror deputy editor Peter Willis has been named as the new Monday to Friday editor of the paper and associate editor Alison Phillips is the new Saturday and Sunday editor

The move follows the sacking last week of Daily Mirror editor Richard Wallace and Sunday Mirror editor Tina Weaver. Their roles were made redundant in a management shake-up which saw People editor Lloyd Embley take charge of a seven-day Mirror operation.
The pair, who clocked up more than 40 years Mirror service between them, were dismissed in a surprise move last Wednesday which saw them both asked to leave with immediate effect.
The two new weekday and weekend editors will report into Embley, whose job title is editor of the Daily and Sunday Mirror.
He said: "These two positions are absolutely key to the seamless introduction of a seven-day operation at the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror. Peter and Alison are superbly talented journalists whose creativity, drive and instinct are exactly what we need.
"I worked with them both at the Daily Mirror for many years before editing The People and I know that we will make a dynamic team. These are richly-rewarded promotions for two of the finest journalists I know.”
