Is this the most offensive ad ever?
ASA releases list of most complained about adverts.
By Samira Shackle Published 30 May 2012
You might think that the most offensive advert of all time would feature swearing, nudity, or at the very least, violence. But actually, this 2005 Kentucky Fried Chicken advert is the most complained about of all time.
For its 50th anniversary, the Advertising Standards Authority has released a list of the 10 most complained about adverts. So what were the KFC ad's record 1,671 complaints about? Er... people talking with their mouths full.
Apparently people were concerned it would encourage bad manners among children. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the complaint was not upheld by the ASA.
