Sun hit by Karen Matthews gagging order

A privacy injuction has prevented The Sun from publishing a story about Matthews, jailed for faking

The Sun today claimed it had been hit with a privacy injunction banning it from running a story about Karen Matthews, the mother jailed for kidnapping her daughter in 2009.

A High Court hearing in Leeds ban publication of the article even though it had been "completely substantiated and there were no complaints about accuracy," the newspaper claimed.

The Sun also said it had been "commended" by the judge in the case for approaching authorities in advance of publication, and that the story was in the public interest.
