James Elwes, editor of Financial World magazine, has been appointed as deputy editor of Prospect.
Elwes takes over a post which has been vacant since James Crabtree left Prospect last summer to become comment editor of the Financial Times.
In addition to Elwes's appointment, the current affairs monthly has also taken on James Macintyre in the newly-created role of political editor.
These appointments come a little over three months after Times chief foreign commentator Bronwen Maddox left the paper to become editor and chief executive of Prospect magazine.
Maddox said: "We are delighted to welcome these new members of the Prospect team.
