Good Housekeeping eyes regional readership

Northwest chosen to roll out the first regional edition

Good Housekeeping now has its eyes on the northwest of Britain as it is all set to publish its first regional edition, with a 16-page section focusing on the northwest counties of England.

The December issue, Good Housekeeping's Christmas release, includes ten pages of editorial content targeted at the regional audience of Merseyside, Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales.

This issue also features "real life stories from successful north-western female businesswomen".
National Magazines has produced 70,000 copies for the northwest to be sold across 6,000 outlets.

The Christmas issue, along with Christmas gift guides, will highlight the best travel destinations, restaurants and events in the region, while focusing on the local food and produce.

After gauging the success of its first regional venture, National Magazines will consider rolling out its longest running title across other regions in the UK.

Lindsay Nicholson, the magazine's editorial director, said the northwest was chosen to roll out the first regional edition as "it has such a strong identity and is so rich with culture."
