Liz Vaccariello, former senior vice-president and editor-in-chief of Rodale's Prevention magazine, has been named editor-in-chief of Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine by the Reader's Digest Association.
Editor-in-chief Silvana Nardone and creative director Tracy Everding both resigned from their posts this summer. Vaccariello will be at the helm of Every Day with Rachael Ray effective November 15.
In April, Vaccariello stepped down as editor-in-chief of Prevention, where she co-authored two successful books - Flat Belly Diet and 400 Calorie Fix.
Even before accepting the job at Every Day with Rachael Ray, Vaccariello has appeared regularly on Ray's daytime talk show as well as The Doctors and The Today Show.
Earlier, Silvana Nardone was at the helm during Ray's rise to stardom. However, she apparently fell out of favour with Ray because of their lack of on-air chemistry.
Readers Digest Association's North American affinities president Suzanne Grimes said, "They have nice chemistry on the air, she gets Rachael and her brand and she gets TV. We obviously wanted someone who was a great magazine editor who also had chemistry with Rachael."
