Former editor of Gourmet Magazine Ruth Reichl will be moving to publishing group Random House to become editor-at-large for the company's imprint.
In addition, Reichl who headed the now defunct title from the Conde Nast stable until last October, has also secured a three-book deal with Random House.
The company will publish a memoir of Reichl years at Gourmet, a cookbook, 'The Tao of Ruth' and her first work of fiction 'Delicious!'
As part of her broadly-defined editorial responsibilities at Random House, she will focus on acquiring books related to food and work on digital ventures.
Reichl said in a release that she was excited to connect with food lovers in a new way and to explore opportunities on the digital side of the book publishing world.
"I will be acquiring books and I'm very interested in thinking about the digital future of food books," said Reichl.
